Every organism in the atlas plotted on an equal-earth projection of the Earth, anchored to the bioregion it calls home. Drag, hover, and click to open any entry.
Equal-earth projection (Šavrič, Patterson & Jenny, 2018) — a compromise projection that preserves the relative size of every land mass, unlike Mercator which dramatically inflates the polar regions. Each dot is anchored to the centroid of an organism's first listed bioregion, with deterministic jitter so neighbours don't overlap.
