Southern African dung-loving psilocybin mushroom morphologically similar to P. cubensis but adapted to subtropical grassland conditions.

CULTURAL CONTEXT

Described relatively recently (Gartz, Reid, Smith & Eicker 1995). Its very existence pushed back the assumption that psilocybin species were absent from sub-Saharan Africa.
